
Medical Interpretation Training Program
HCA has a medical interpretation training and certification program for a select number of iHCA members in Mandarin (and other languages soon to come). These students will receive financial sponsorship for the certification test (Interpreter Skills Test - originally $200) by USC Keck School of Medicine.

1 SEMESTER TRAINING
(8-10 classes -Zoom)

Weekly 1-hour classes teaching vocabulary and practice, starting 2 weeks after acceptances (end sept-mid oct) until the week before RRR week (beginning dec)

Mock tests + take medical interpretation certification test (no date set)
REQUIREMENTS

Fluency in indicated language

Be a general member for both semesters and completing general membership requirements

If new, student must apply for both a general membership and medical interpretation

Apply for medical interpretation via Google form and attend a 20-min online interview
OTHER PROGRAMS
~2022 spring
Members finished with the medical interpretation program may remain general members of iHCA and participate in volunteering activities facilitated by iHCA. Volunteering activities will include medical interpretation opportunities for members to continue practicing and improving their skills
