To do so, we offer various networking events, community services, informative general meetings, medical interpretation program, and fun night socials. US Healthcare System Talk

Border Health: Talk with

Professor Stephane Rousseau

  • Invited the school’s Health  & Pre-Med career advisor

  • presentation on international students career advising

  •  held a peer-to-peer advice breakout rooms

  • held breakout rooms where students can talk to advisor and to each other

  • Presentations on the US healthcare system’s history and structure 

  • Open discussions for international student members to share about the healthcare systems in their home countries

  • Invited Professor Rousseau from Thammasat University Thailand (specialist in Thailand- Myanmar border) to give a lecture about health crises and solutions along borders

Linkedin Workshops

  • Presentation on resume and cover letter building targeted towards the participating members

  • Discussions of structure / design, writing tips, and resumes and Linkedin profile examples

Healthcare Career Panel

  • Invited a 1st year UCI med student, business development manager at Kaiser, and researcher from Thermo Fisher to share their experiences with students

  • Mixes of interviews and break out rooms for open discussions

Game Night Social

  • Game night for members

Global Healthcare Policy Hackathon

  • Student teams of 3-5 spent the weekend working on a 3-5 page policy memo in response to the question:

    • What factors enable a risk sharing model to be successful? Propose a risk-sharing model to prepare for and/or respond to a potential future pandemic.

    • Prizes for winners
